Five Questions And A Playlist
Five Questions And A Playlist

Atlanta’s Omni return later this month with their third album ‘Networker’, their most '“HI FI” to date and their first on indie legends Sub Pop’s record label .
Through songwriters Frankie Broyles and Philip Frobos, along with longtime collaborator Nathaniel Higgins, this release breaks new ground for the band, both sonically and thematically. The nods towards the likes of Gang Of Four, and Wire remain, with small touches of weighty 70s psych and soft rock giving it an added sense of heft. This is all anchored by the stop-start wiry guitar lines that have become their signature sound since the release of 2016’s ‘Deluxe’.
That may all sound like this is an album leaning heavily on the past but in terms of subject matter, it’s very much rooted in the modern world.
Of one of the singles Philip says, “when Frankie and I wrote 'Skeleton Key' it felt like a turning point for our record, as though we had reached a new rock n roll echelon and Networker was truly underway. Lyrically this came together after hearing about some friends’ strange, surprising and sometimes hilarious online dating experiences.”
Order ‘Networker’ here.
Before that, Frankie and Philip answered a few questions and made us a playlist.
